An intimate destination wedding is an easy way for your guest list to self-trim, simply by virtue of the event requiring travel. Your best and favorites will make the trip no matter what, but some of those extended family and removed friends won't be as motivated to spend the money and take the time off work. So for couples trying to maintain a small guest list, an intimate destination wedding is a great option. If you like, you can still celebrate with everybody by hosting an extended reception-only event back home for those unable to attend the destination wedding. Now, since we gave you that amazing idea replete with ingeniously sound logic, you can thank us by taking us with you to photograph!

These types of weddings combine our two favorite scenarios: intimate weddings and destination weddings. You can see why we love intimate weddings by visiting our Intimate Wedding Photographer page.

A destination wedding is great if you and your fiancé share a special place in the world, and you'd like to solidify it as such. The place where you get married will always remain deeply special to you.

A destination wedding is also great for giving your wedding a unique feel. There's something about traveling to a completely different place that makes everybody exceptionally excited and joyful for the occasion. It feels like a vacation! Your friends and family are loose and relaxed and ready to make some unique memories. Also, if you're in your 30's, and all your friends are already married, a destination wedding gives you a chance to do something a little different than the tons of weddings that you all have already attended. Basically, everybody will thank you for it.

Remember, "destination" doesn't always have to mean "tropical." Of course, if that's your style, it will definitely make for a memorable event. But if you want to show your friends and family your favorite urban spot or European city, then by all means, throw an urban destination wedding or European destination wedding. There are no rules! At the end of the day, your wedding should accomplish three things: reflect who you are as a couple, provide you some lifelong memories, and, most importantly, get you married off!
