We have a funny story about Mahsh and Wander.
Like we do with all of our couples for their portrait sessions, we asked Mahsh and Wander what kinds of things they like to do together. They said they like to salsa dance and play basketball and asked if we would be open to photographing part of their session in a canoe. OBVIOUSLY, we love any opportunity for a unique portrait session, so the four of us went about setting everything up. Fast forward a few weeks, portrait session day comes along, we meet Mahsh and Wander at the designated spot, carry the canoe down to the water, clumsily load its teetering mass into the lake, and feel very proud of ourselves. Once everything is ready to go, Mahsh and Wander look at us and say, "So, have you guys ever canoed before? Because we haven't." Crickets for a second...and then Shaun and I bursted into laughter.
Shaun and I hadn't canoed before, but I'm happy to report that we bumbled around enough to figure it out, kept everybody cozy and dry in a right-side-up canoe, and had a fantastic time photographing this lovely couple.
Their wedding day was just as much fun, lots of bursting into laughter and even a little salsa dancing...but no canoe. Sorry.
Mega thanks to Meredith Commender of Significant Events of Texas for introducing us to this fabulously fun couple and for flawlessly coordinating this Westin Dallas Downtown wedding. Enjoy this dazzling event and lots of laughs!
